In response to a request from Roman & Catherine Lobo School for the Blind, MRPL procured and installed a 500KVA generator to facilitate uninterrupted power supply to this unique school being run by the Seva Bharathi Trust, Mangalore.
Shri B. SadashivPrabhu KAS, ADC, DK District handed over the keys ofthe generator to Shri CalistusD’Sa , Principal of Roman &Cathrine School for the Blind, in presence of Shri Sushilchandra, GM HRD & CSR, MRPL,Dr U V Shenoy, Professor of PaediatricsKMC and the main force behind thisSchool Project of SevaBharathi. Shri KetanChandrana, teachers and students of the School.
The School offers formal and braille education to visually impaired children from 5 to 15 years of age and currently has around 40 students enrolled under the Karnataka State syllabus from Class I to X.
The significance of the ceremony was heightened as the power failed and the genset kicked in cooling the classroom, powering computers etc.
