Shramadan - Swachh Bharat Pakhwada 2017

As a part of Swachh Bharat Pakhwada 2017, a Shramadan Programme was organised in Katipalla – Kaikamba Junction on 23/7/2017. MRPL Employees, Family members, MRPL Secondary work force, CISF Personnel and DPS Students and Teachers actively participated in the cleaning programme. Shri H. Kumar, MD, Shri M. Ventakesh, Director (Refinery), Shri BHV Prasad, GGM (HR), Shri S. Ravi Prasad, GM (Internal Audit), Shri U.V. Aithal, GM(HSE & ISO), MRPL and senior officers of MRPL were present during the Shramadan programme. A One kilometre stretch on two sides of Ganeshpura Junction namely, towards Cargo Gate/ HPCL Gate and towards Katipalla were cleaned during the shramadan programme.

 

 

 

 

 

Swachh Bharat Pakhwada Inauguration

Swachh Bharat Pakhwada inauguration programme was held in MRPL Training Centre on 17.07.2017 at 11.30 am. Shri H Kumar, our Managing Director, Shri M Venkatesh, Director Refinery, Shri AK Sahoo, Director Finance, Shri Rajeev Kushwah, CVO joined for lighting of lamp. Swachhata Oath in Kannada, Hindi and English was administered to the employees, CISF personnel and the contract employees. Shri Prashant Baliga, DGM - CC held a Quiz programme for employees and Mr Shrisha M Karmaran, Executive - CSR conduced Quiz programme for the contract employees. Ms Veena T Shetty, Sr Manager - CSR compered the programme.

 

CSR Department has planned a series of programmes for the Swachhata fortnight. This includes an awareness programme for dependents of employees on 19.7.2017 and Shramadan by employees, contract employees & DPS children in Ganeshpura area on 23.7.2017 and awareness programmes in neighbouring schools and colleges during the fortnight.

 

 

 

GST Outreach Programme in MRPL

A GST Outreach Programme was held in MRPL on 17-07-2017 to sensitize the stake holders about the landmark tax reform introduced by the Government of India. Dr M Subramanyam, IRS, Commissioner of Central Excise & Central Tax (GST), Mangalore and Shri H G Pavitra KCTS, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Admn) & State GST were the chief guests on the occasion. Shri H Kumar, our Managing Director, presided over the programme.

 

Shri Shankar S, IRS, Assistant Commissioner Central Excise & Central Tax (GST), Shri Shreyas K M IRS, Assistant Commissioner Service Tax & Central Tax (GST), Shri HemajiNaik KCTS, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement) & State GST, Shri Shambhu Bhat, KCTS, Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement) & State GST also participated in the programme. Shri AK Sahoo, Director Finance, MRPL and Shri Rajeev Kushvah, CVO, MRPL were among the dignitaries present on the occasion. The stakeholders, vendors, contractors and service providers of MRPL in good numbers took part in the programme.

Mr HG Pavitra spoke on the occasion and gave the background of introduction of GST in the country and said that GST will avoid the cascading effect of taxes on goods and services. Dr M Subramanyam, said that GST has taken 17 years in the making. He said that GST would result in simplification of taxation system and help in ease of doing business. This is a landmark legislation of tax reforms. This will also benefit our exports and make our economy attractive for foreign investors.

Shri H Kumar, MD MRPL spoke on the occasion and said that introduction of GST would benefit the economy. He cited the example of abolition of Check posts at the state borders which enables the free movement of goods which would result in increase in demand for HSD. He also said that he would look forward for the inclusion of crude, petrol & diesel under GST which are at present kept out of the purview of GST.

Shri Shankar S and Shri Shreyas K M gave presentations about the Concepts of GST, Transition & Invoice and Registration Process. A question and answer session followed in which various queries of the stakeholders and vendors were clarified by the tax authorities.
