Inauguration of MRPL's new Retail Outlet at Panambur

MRPL inaugurated its state of the art Company Owned Company Operated (COCO) retail outlet at Panambur, Mangalore on 27.02.2018. The retail outlet was inaugurated by Shri H. Kumar, Managing Director in the presence of Shri M.Venkatesh, Director -Refinery, Shri A.K.Sahoo, Director - Finance, Shri Rajeev Kushwah, CVO and other senior officers and customers.

 

The first customer of the Petrol Pump was also felicitated during the event.

This retail outlet is spread across 2.75 Acres of land and is one of the largest petrol pumps in Mangalore. Being very near to New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT), this will largely cater to truckers originating from NMPT port.

The petrol pump has a very attractive design and colour scheme which stands out from a distance. The illumination at night is spectacular, giving a new land mark to Mangalore city. This is the third retail outlet set up by MRPL in Mangalore City.

MRPL is planning to add other conveniences for the customers at its retail outlets, such as ATM, Dhaba for truckers and Restaurant for motoring public. MRPL also has Cashless Loyalty Scheme at its outlets. This retail outlet is part of MRPL’s retail expansion plan in the State of Karnataka, Goa and Kerala.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MRPL receives first cargo of US crude

MRPL received its first cargo of US crude on 16th February 2018. The crude tanker MT Maran Poseidon carrying 1.0 Million Barrels of Southern Green Canyon crude (1,41,000 MT) arrived at New Mangalore Port (NMPT) for unloading its cargo to MRPL tanks. This is the 300th vessel handled at MRPL SPM.

As reported earlier, MRPL purchased its first cargo of Southern Green Canyon (SGC), High Sulfur crude from USA for the first time, in order to diversify its crude sourcing.

Valedictory Ceremony of OGCM – Saksham 2018

The Valedictory Ceremony of सक्षम OGCM (Oil & Gas Conservation Month) - 2018 was held in Conference Hall in Netravati building on 15.2.2018.

 

Shri Peter Praveen Pinto, DGM - TS welcomed the gathering. Shri SP Kamath, CGM – PE & Production Planning gave the overview of the events carried out during Saksham 2018. He mentioned that the Cyclothon, Competitions like Online Quiz & Article on ‘Need of Energy Conservation and Impact on Indian Economy’ for employees were the special events during OGCM 2018. The external auditors from IOC, Reliance and BPCL have conducted Furnace Efficiency Survey of MRPL and Engineers from MRPLhave visited other refineries for the similar survey, he mentioned. Our Retail Outlets have organised free pollution control checks at our Cargo gate RO and Kadri RO, he reported.

Shri M Venkatesh, Director Refinery spoke on the occasion and complimented Technical Services Team for conducting the event efficiently. He cautioned that we should improve year on year in the energy efficiency parameterand the real target is to get back the energy efficiency award, he concluded.

Shri H Kumar, Managing Director said that the PCRA is doing a good job for last couple of years in terms of creating awareness on energy conservation. Oil consumption in our country is growing at 10% and there will be more demand for the oil and it will be a challenge for the Refiners to meet the requirement of the country, he said. The awareness activities should not be confined to this one month alone and it should be extended to all through the year, he felt. He congratulated the Saksham team for conducting the event efficiently.

The prizes were distributed to the winners in various competitions conducted for employees and DPS children.

2nd Batch of MRPL Kaushal Vikas Kendra completes Training

The second batch under MRPL Kaushal Vikas Kendra has completed its training at NTTF, Bangalore on 14th February 2018. The placement offers were handed over to the successful candidates by Shri Anil Kumar, General Manager, NTTF and Shri Suresh Kumar J, Chief Manager (SDC & Training), MRPL.

 

This batch had 21 trainees who were trained under the trade – CNC Operator – Vertical Machining Centre. The training had commenced on 3rd October 2017. The trainees had an initial 10 days Rope-in programme at MRPL, Mangalore and later the trainees moved to NTTF, Bangalore for further training. The training comprised of basic workshop practice, operation of Conventional milling machine and sessions on CNC Programming and operating the CNC machines.

The placement opportunity has been given to all the candidates who have expressed their willingness to work. Some of the candidates have expressed interest to continue Diploma course / further studies or to work in their own business.

The trainees were provided with boarding and lodging for the entire duration of their training at Bangalore. In the first batch in August 2017, 57 candidates had passed out of NTTF with jobs in hand under MRPL Kaushal Vikas Kendra.

 

 

 

MRPL Q3, FY17-18 Results

The Board of Directors of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), a subsidiary Company of ONGC and Schedule “A” Mini Ratna Company, approved its Un-audited Financial Results for the third quarter of Financial Year 2017-18.
