A vendors’ meet was organised in MRPL Employees Recreation Centre on 31st October 2019, as a part of the Vigilance Awareness Week. More than 500 vendors from different parts of Karnataka and neighbouring states participated in the meet.

The National Unity Day pledge was administered in Hindi, Kannada and English by Shri Sanjay Varma, GGM I/c Refinery, Shri Raviprasad, GGM Finance & CFO and Shri Keshava Nayak, GGM -Maintenance respectively. Shri Sathish S, DGM – Materials held a knowledge sharing session on Procurement Procedure of MRPL and the scope & opportunities for vendors to participate in the tenders of MRPL.
Later presentation on different topics were organized;
• Mr Gautham, Business Facilitator, gave a presentation on GeM. He explained the registration procedure and the benefits that could be derived from GeM.
• Mr Indrajit Samantha, Manager Business Development from RXIL, gave a presentation on TReDS (Trade Receivables & Discounting System), a new concept by RBI to facilitate financing of Trade Receivables of MSMEs at an approximate interest rate of 7.6 %. Nine Oil PSUs have registered with TReDS, he said and appealed more MSMEs to board TReDS and get benefitted from this new initiative.
• Mr Robin Mathias, Deputy Manager OMPL presented on procurement procedure followed in OMPL.
Shri MN Krishna Murthy, IPS (Retd.), Independent External Monitor spoke on the occasion and said how Ballabhbhai Patel’s dedication to his work has earned him a special place in History. He also conveyed how the new codes like anti profiteering could ensure the GST benefits coming back to the PSUs. Shri S Ravi, IRS (Retd.), Independent External Monitor spoke on the occasion and said that IEM’s role is only advisory and to give report to CVO or MD. He appraised the vendors how to get benefits from the transparent procedures of PSUs.
Shri Rajeev Kushwah, CVO spoke and said that in MRPL we have robust procedures and the complaints are minimal. He asked the vendors to give suggestions for improvements in the system. Shri Atul Singh, IPS, Additional Secretary, CVC who was the chief guest on the occasion said procedures are made to ensure the work is done with the basic principles of Integrity and without corruption. He suggested to take the services of a Technical Expert in addition to a Chartered Accountant to follow the online procedures smoothly. He encouraged more and more women entrepreneurs to participate, add empathy to the system and change the rule of the game. This would definitely bring the corruption down, he opined.
A very useful interactive session followed in which many vendors raised various queries and concerns. Shri. Pankaj Agarwal, GGM(Materials) and Shri. V.N.S. Venkatramana, CGM(Materials) answered the queries related to Procurement & Tendering, LD Clause, ‘Pre-audit’ before the award of the tender, ‘Bonus Clause’ if job completed ahead of schedule etc. Shri SankaNagaraju, GM(Materials) proposed the vote of thanks. The program was compered by Shri Suresh KJ, DGM(Materials). Material Department took lead in organizing this Meet which turned out to be a success.
