About Vigilance

MRPL, a Schedule ‘A’ Miniratna CPSE and a subsidiary of ONGC is a State of Art Grassroot Refinery located in a beautiful hilly terrain, north of Mangalore city, in Dakshin Kannada region.

Along with MRPL’s vision of being a world-class Refining and Petrochemicals Company, it is MRPL’s equally committed declared mission to “imbibe highest standards of business ethics and values”.

Shri Y Ravindranth, ITS took charge as first full time CVO of MRPL in 2012 & is currently in-charge of vigilance administration in MRPL. Vigilance department headed by Shri K. Upendra Rao, DGM (Vigilance)-MRPL reports to CVO-MRPL. Vigilance department has been at the forefront transforming MRPL work culture by actively effecting a transition from Private Sector practices to transparent Public Sector Unit practices.

Vigilance Department in MRPL has been instrumental in bringing far reaching policy changes in almost every sphere of activity of the Company, like implementation of e-payments, e-tendering, computerization of Annual Property Returns etc to mention a few. The changes brought in by the department have not only streamlined the system but also paid rich dividends in the form of savings to the Company.

MRPL recognizes the importance of Values and Ethics in Corporate Governance and understands that Vigilance is essentially a Management function to achieve optimum results.

The Department consistently strives to improve vigilance administration by leveraging technology to reduce bottlenecks/delays in systems/processes and thereby, bringing in more transparency and expediency in handling businesses of the organization. Vigilance department through its activities is making all efforts to reduce scope for corruption and inculcate a culture of Transparency, Honesty, Probity and Integrity in the company.

MRPL Vigilance department under CVO-MRPL has additionally taken over vigilance administration in MRPL subsidiaries M/s OMPL & M/s Shell-MRPL Aviation Fuels & Services in the years 2015 & 2016 respectively.
