MRPL supports Karnataka Forest Department for Koti Vriksha Andolana

The Karnataka Forest department and Karnataka State Pollution Control Board had requested MRPL to join hands to increase the green cover and to protect the environment in Dakshina Kannada District.

Accordingly, MRPL responded to the request and contributed Rs 7,48,800/- to Karnataka Forest Department towards the plantation program under Koti Vriksha Andolana. As per the program, 1440 nos. of saplings will be planted in Schools, Colleges, Grama Panchayaths, Primary Health centres, temples and other public places as a part of Koti Vriksha Andolana in Dakshina Kannada District.

Mr. K G Prakash DGM (SD&ISO), MRPL and Mr. Satheesha. M, Manager (HSE), MRPL recently handed over the DD for Rs 7,48,800/- to Mr Shridhar Nayak, A.C.F, Karnataka Forest Dept., Mangalore.

MRPL Posts Rs 416 Crore Profit - Q2 Financial Results

The Board of Directors of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, a subsidiary Company of ONGC and Schedule A Mini Ratna, approved today its un-audited financial results for the second quarter of Financial Year 2016-17.

The company’s GRM for Q2 FY 2016-17 stood at US $ 4.65/bbl as against GRM of US $ 0.34/bbl during corresponding quarter FY 2015-16.

The EBITDA of the Company improved substantially on account of sustained positive GRM throughout and almost stable Forex market during the half year. The EBITDA for the Q2 FY 2016-17 stood at ` 878 Crore as against (-) `695 Crore during the corresponding quarter FY 2015-16.

MRPL sets up kiosk at MCC for Integrity pledge and organizes walkathon at Surathkal

As a part of the Vigilance Awareness week, MRPL has set up a kiosk at Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) to enable the general public to take E-Integrity pledge by visiting the website of Central Vigilance Commission, ie. www.cvc.nic.in. The kiosk was inaugurated by Shri Harinath, Mayor of Mangalore on 2-11-2016, who also took the E-Integrity pledge on the occasion. Speaking later he complimented MRPL for setting up the kiosk at MCC to enable the citizens to take the pledge and spreading the awareness among the general public about fighting corruption. Shri Mohammad Nazir, Commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation, Shri Gokuladas Nayak, Dy.Commissioner, Shri H Kumar, Managing Director, MRPL, Shri Y Ravindranath, CVO, MRPL and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. Citizens were seen enthusiastically taking the pledge by visiting the CVC website after the program. The kiosk will be available for public upto 5-11-2016.

Central Vigilance Commission, apex body for fighting the corruption has proposed an ‘’E Integrity pledge” for citizens, wherein general public are requested to visit the CVC website, www.cvc.nic.in and click the link and follow the instructions for taking the E-pledge. A certificate of appreciation would be issued by CVC which can be downloaded and printed for taking the pledge.

A walkathon was arranged in the afternoon in Surathkal, in which students of Govindadasa PU College, Surathkal, NGOs, charity institutions and citizens participated in association with MRPL. The walkathon was flagged off by Shri H Kumar, Managing Director, MRPL from Govindadasa PU College to central maidan via Municipal office. Shri A K Sahoo, Director, Finance, MRPL, representatives of Lions club, JCI club, Rotary club and others were present on the occasion. Students and general public participated in the walkathon in large numbers.

A street play depicting the ill effects of corruption was staged near Surathkal circle on the occasion.

 

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was observed in MRPL on 31.10.2016. ‘Run for Unity’ was held in front MRPL Employees Club for the employees and their dependents. The Pledge Taking Ceremony was held in front of Admin Building and Nethravathy Building in MRPL Mangalore. Shri H Kumar, Managing Director, Shri M Venkatesh, Director Refinery and Shri A K Sahoo, Director Finance administered the pledge in English, Kannada and Hindi respectively at the Administration building. The Pledge taking ceremony was also held in different Retail Outlets and Delhi, Mumbai & Bangalore offices.

Vigilance Awareness Week Inauguration in MRPL

The inaugural ceremony of Vigilance Awareness Week was held in Training centre on 31.10.2016. The programme started with lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Ms. Divya N of Phase III chanted the initial prayer. Shri BHV Prasad, GM I/c HR welcomed the gathering.

Vigilance Pledge was administered by Shri A K Sahoo, Director (F) in Hindi, Shri M Venkatesh, Director (R) in Kannada, and by Shri H Kumar, Managing Director in English. The Vigilance Awareness Week messages from President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Home Minister, Finance Minister, MoS (I/c) PM’s Office, CVC and Cabinet Secretary, GOI were read out by GGMs and the heads of collectives.

Shri K Upendra Rao, DGM Vigilance gave an insight into the programmes planned for the week. He also apprised about the programmes on DD & All India Radio. Vigilance Souvenir ‘Paradarshak’ was released by the Chief Guest Shri Arala Rajendra Shetty, Retd Principal, SDM Law College during the programme. He also activated the Vigilance link on MRPL Net. Shri Prahlad U, Manager – IS briefed about the new link in MRPL Net about Vigilance.

Shri Y Ravindranath, ITS, CVO spoke on the occasion and said that the offence of corruption is done not only by the person receiving the bribe but also by the person who offer bribe. He highlighted the directions from CVC about the public participation in the fight against corruption. Vigilance Souvenir with excellent articles has been brought by the department, he said and complimented those who supported in bringing out the book.

Shri M Venkatesh, Director Refinery said that the opportunities and avenues have been provided to raise a complaint. But the complaint should be factual, he said. There could be mistakes while doing a job but one should raise his/her level, be transparent and lead the organisation, state and the country to prosperity, he said.

Shri AK Sahoo, Director Finance while speaking on the occasion said that the corruption is a disease. But for this disease we ourselves are the best doctors and our change in attitude is the medicine for the disease, he felt.

Shri Arala Rajendra Shetty, Chief Guest of the programme said that today there are two issues which are bothering our society, they are integration and eradication. Mahatma Gandhi had a vision for our country that the truth and honesty should not become casualty at any cost, so be courageous and try to be honest, he said. He further said that we should create an atmosphere of trust and understanding around us and should respect others. We should integrate amid diversity of issues among us, he felt. Try to break barriers and at times fold your umbrella and dance in the rain, he concluded.

Shri H Kumar, our Managing Director complimented CVO and Vigilance Dept. for bringing out ‘Paradarshak’ the Vigilance Magazine with good articles in it. He wished them good luck to carry out various activities during the week successfully. He said that value systems are picked up by children during 5 to 12 years of age, children should be groomed to a stage that they should question their parents about the valuables received or gifted. The direct benefit transfer scheme by the Govt. is a very big scheme towards transparency. This direct benefit transfer need to be extended to Kerosene, fertilizers and MNREGA too, he felt. Media and RTI are the powerful tools in curbing corruption, he said. He concluded by quoting Rabindranath Tagore’s words - ‘Into the heaven of freedom, my father, let my country awake’.
